You do not have to attend therapy with your family to avail of this form of therapy.

Parent child Psychological Therapy

At times depending on the family system a form of therapy is for the parent and child to attend therapy. During the years we have welcomed both children and adult children with their parent. At times this form of therapy requires parental change, this isn’t because you are ‘bad’ but small changes can bring a difference to the quality of the relationship. We expect those who attend the first session to attend all sessions. At times others can join but this is unusual. Family court reports are not completed.

Family Therapy

Family therapy is usually all members but at times depending on the needs this can be subgroups and individuals during attending. This form of therapy looks at the needs of the family as a whole. It is not about blaming but being solution focused on improving the quality of the relationship. At times parents come alone reconnecting to bring in the children. Families have changed over recent years and we are blending families together. Family therapy is an opportunity to discuss concerns if things aren’t working as planned.

Sessions are 50 minutes and can be weekly or fortnightly depending on your need. Sessions are adapted to working with all ages and preferences.
